With the big remodel underway we’ve been as busy as ever on the weekends being productive around the house. But! When these four walls hold us in and it starts to feel like a cage, we’ve been exploring some of our more beautiful San Diego destinations by thinking of them as afternoon ‘staycations’. Not actually staying anywhere special, but by checking out kid-friendly areas like splash pads, water front parks and hotel pools that you can visit or buy day passes to (little known secret that’s pretty awesome). Being tourists in your own city is really just about the best thing ever and is great for all of that kid energy.
This post today is publishing a little late, but if you have some extra time I hope that you enjoy some light reading on this Sunday afternoon:
How to be a better listener. (PS easily distracted?)
This article on what paternity leave looks like is great – but the pictures really did me in.
Homemade cookie butter (heart eyes emoji here).
Right now I’m all about the slightly baggy long sleeve pullover tucked into rolled jean shorts and paired with my Zuzii flats (how is the weather in your neck of the woods? It’s about 68 F here).
I’m planning on adding a diy leaning ladder (it’s constructed in my mind…) to our new bed/bathroom remodel. Loved these five ways to style them – especially the hanging planters.
I’m trying to find a nursing-friendly black one piece (for a postpartum belly’s sake) and am turning to J Crew to see if this one, this one, this one, or this one might work. Boring, but that’s all this momma wants for the beach these days. Maybe I should go the tankini route?
Happy weekend. xo

Goodness…all those ideas for a leaning ladder make me want to run to a thrift store right now! I’m now picturing a leaning pot rack in the blank corner of our kitchen or a couple ladders on our deck to hold small pots of herbs and lettuces (so much cheaper than those expensive wall planting systems) Thanks for sharing the ideas!

I know, right?! I love them as well! I’ve been looking for one for our living room to sort the plethora of throw blankets we have… the hunt is still on.
