Hosting a Halloween Dinner Party?

Halloween Tablescape 1

Denise, over at Little Ant Design, created this fun Halloween tablescape in 2008 (featured on Hostess with the Mostess!) that’s perfect for a spooky dinner party! I had to highlight it this year as here as well — because it’s just too creative!

How great are the drink labels? Check out this post on Simply Stated by Jenn of HWTM on creating your own bottled beverage labels. Read the full tablescape post at Hostess Blog and Little Ant Design, I’ve also pulled a few of my favorite party pics for more inspiration after the jump!  Continue reading

Fabric of the Week: Carolina Irving Textiles

Carolina Irving: Fabric of the Week

I adore Carolina Irving for so many reasons — from her clean, consistent look to her diverse offerings (you’ll find a block print, country floral, wide stripe and geometric pattern in her latest line, for example) that you really can’t go wrong with.

Former editor of House & Garden and Vogue Living, Carolina has always had a keen eye for fabric and fashion. While her line is still only available through select showrooms (my one big gripe with interior design-style collections), you may be able to nab a yard or swatch through eBay or perhaps even splurge through the traditional route. I’m eyeing this paprika Andaluz print for my dining room chairs…

Creepy Crawly Spider Brownie Bites

Spider Brownie Bites PNG

Remember those candied sugar brownie bites from the Colorful Brownie Pop How-To? With a bit of a spin on the traditional {and a few licorice wheels!} these creepy crawly brownie bites would make one quick & spooky alternative.

At Home with Kim Vallee featured these yummy treats from PaulaDeen.com, who showcases Bakerella’s brownie pop recipe for the bites — check out this one or give my brownie bites decorating tips a whirl. YUM!

Spider decorations: milk/dark chocolate candy melts (for coating — follow double boiler directions from Brownie Pop How-To), black licorice wheels (legs), raspberry gum drops (or M&Ms for eyes), white sprinkles (fangs), black or brown nonpareils (round sprinkles for top of spider).
