A Special Honoring for All of the Dads

Happy Father’s Day!

Here’s a quick look back at the three special dads in my life… To my Dad, step Dad and Father-In-Law: Love you guys very much and thank you for the special Fathers that you are!

Clockwise from top: my Dad (Jerry) and step Dad (John) walking me down the aisle (Kevin & my anniversary is next week so I look forward to sharing a few more wedding photos), my Dad and I touring Balboa park last year, my brothers, sisters and Kevin with my Dad in San Diego, my FIL (Randy) on a bike trip down the coast of Oregon with his sons (and me in the sag wagon!), and finally my step Dad with my brother and I when we were little.

Friday Guest Blog Interview: Mara of M Loves M

she: a girl who loves fashion, food, musicals, puppies, and shoes! he: a boy who loves writing music, playing his guitar, surfing, and weenie dogs! we: like beautiful California, yummy sushi, going on trips, taking photobooth pictures, being silly and being together! We’ve been together since March 2008 and are very much in love.

Have you heard of M Loves M? I stole that introduction right off the front of Mara’s site because it so perfectly introduces this adorable blog! Today’s Friday Guest Blog Interview is all about wardrobe & style, with a blog centered on delicious fashion and a look book so fun to keep up with that I regularly pull tips and tricks from this seriously creative and trendy girl.

I asked Mara to share with us a few of her favorite finds, ideas and tips through PDB’s guest interview series, and she delivered on both the wardrobe and interior design ends. Mara picked out five unique outfits to showcase today as well a few interior vignettes that highlight her love of all things design.

Father’s Day is Almost Here!

Celebrate Dad’s Day in style with a big family brunch this coming Sunday. I love the idea of gathering all of the grandpas, uncles and dads together for one big, delicious celebration!

Incorporate a few lawn games like bocce ball, cricket or even a relay race to amp up the afternoon fun. I love these mustaches that have become so popular at parties (like this one over at Full House!) – how cute would they be as casual little place cards?

You can’t go wrong with a hearty brunch like this line-up: The Food Network’s Nana’s cinnamon rolls, roasted spicy sausage with sauteed onions, a hearty vegetable frittata and BHG’s greatest-waffle-recipe-ever. Table design found on Style Me Pretty.

While I won’t get to spend Father’s Day with our dad’s this year, I’m looking forward to a mellow weekend with the hubby working on the house! Cards, gifts and honoring of our dear papas are in the mail.
