I recently found this tutorial and immediately began searching for a time this week to swing by the local Goodwill for a few chunky sweaters.
Under the Table and Dreaming created these beautiful vase and candle holder covers, see the full tutorial here. Sleeves create the easiest slip-on cover, but Stephanie Lynn shares how to turn the rest of your old sweaters into creative and cozy liners as well.
Doesn’t the soft fabric make you ready for cool weather and warm fires? And how great would these be grouped on the mantel or as a centerpiece for an upcoming Fall dinner? Thank you, One Pretty Thing for sharing!
What a grrrrreat idea. Totally liking this. How I wish I could sew….. :(
Fantastic blog! I actually love how it is easy on my eyes as well as the information are well written. I am wondering how I can be notified whenever a new post has been made. I have subscribed to your rss feed which should do the trick! Have a nice day!
Love these, and it really gets me in the mood for cooler weather…it’s still in the 90’s here : (
adorable!! i love these!
I just took several sweaters that would have worked to Good Will today! After seeing this post I may have to go and buy them back!
What a smart idea!
:) It makes me want to throw on a cozy big sweater and pull the arms down to my hands and cuddle! (hope that made sense) – I like my sweaters though. I would have to thrift to make these!
So cozy and pretty. Now I know what to do with my favorite sweater that I couldn’t bring myself to get rid of :)
Beautiful and warm!
